One blossom. Enough fruit for a whole community.

That's the thing about banana trees that most people walk past without thinking about. That single deep-purple bloom, those small white and yellow flowers forming underneath, they're the beginning of something generous. I wanted to get close enough to show that. The deep purples, the movement of the leaves in the wind, the quiet abundance of it.

This is one of my favourite paintings I've made.
